What is the difference between liquid silicone and solid silicone?
Different forms and characteristics:
Liquid silicone is referred to as LSR in English. It is in a liquid state, has good fluidity, fast vulcanization, is safer and more environmentally friendly, can fully meet food-grade requirements, and has good tear resistance, resilience, yellowing resistance, thermal stability, and heat aging resistance.
Solid silicone is in the solid state, has no fluidity, has stable chemical properties, and does not burn.
Different molding equipment and processes:
The full name of liquid silicone is injection molding liquid silicone, and the vulcanization equipment is an injection molding machine. The injection molding machine has a very simple process flow (no manual processes such as batching, refining, cutting, and placing in the high-temperature rubber process are required, and only one worker is needed to take the product), high product precision (machines replace all manual procedures before molding), high output (A/B glue is mixed at a certain temperature and molded in a few seconds), saving manpower, electricity, and materials, etc. It can produce all products produced by high-temperature rubber! It is a mainstream of silicone rubber material development in the next few years.
The molding process of solid silicone is molding and extrusion molding, using high-temperature mold vulcanization calendering molding, and extrusion molding by extrusion machine.
Similarities: They are both one of the silicone raw materials, used to make silicone products, with stable performance, safety and environmental protection, and are divided into ordinary grade, food grade, medical grade, etc.
